The Ceredigion Road Policing Unit have confiscated a car and will have it crushed after it emerged that it had not been taxed or had an MOT in six years.
According to the force the driver also had not insured the vehicle.
The driver was pulled over in Cardigan because of the “poor mechanical condition” of the vehicle.
But when police went to check the vehicle on their system, it transpired that the car had no insurance, and had had no tax or MOT since at least 2014.
A spokesperson for the force said that the driver signed a disclaimer on the roadside that said the police could confiscate and crush the car.
And the driver will also have to go to court following the incident.
